Welcome to the Windy City

After a series of events that brought the persons who will be referred to as the Justifiers together, they were instrumental in thwarting the sale of stolen medical materials.

"Knowing Jim West was headed to the warehouse where my old pal Brimstone was gonna do a deal, I couldn't let the guy get pulped. I know Brimstone and his group, used to run with them before I went to stir. So I went down there to make sure West didn't get his head handed to him. Besides, Brimstone offered me a thousand bucks to be back-up for him. So, anyway, everything went to hell, and as it turns out a whole host of uninvited guests were on hand to mess up the deal. It looked like I might not get paid, but I managed to locate a stack of money among the debris."

Local authorities then requested their assistance in locating a suspected explosive device placed by a group of terrorists who shall be referred to as Sunburst.

"So then after the free for all ends at the warehouse (it took the cops forever to show, and I called them with plenty of time to spare too!) I was getting a smoke and they told us about the bomb. Everyone was hot to find it, except for West (who as it turns out has super-powers) and me. Well, with this whole civic minded crowd we went down to Police HQ to view the video tape the guys who planted the bomb sent. It was some shit about government tests and a boat load of dead guys, which is always good for a long standing grudge that someone else usually has to take care of (like us)."

After interviewing suspects from the earlier incident, a probable location was determined as a starting place to search for clues to the wereabouts of the explosive device.

"So everyone else takes off to chase down this bomb in the place they think it's at, and me and Jim stick around to talk to one of the guys from the warehouse who's still taking in air. Someone came up with the idea that there may be a connection to the warehouse deal (since the items up for sale were anti-radiation drugs and stuff). He was really helpful (and I don't think we had to hurt him at all!). Eventually everyone else showed up, and we headed out for this apartment"

Upon arrival the team interviewed another investigator who had come upon the case from another direction. He was able to assist the Justifiers in the location of the bomb.

"So, we took a cop car (Which was awesome) and headed to this apartment. Jim was starting to sweat, apparently his "super-batteries" were a little low and he waswn't real happy to be hanging with us. I got him a riot shotgun from the car and all the cool stuff from the trunk and he seemed to feel a little better. So, inside the apartment we bump into this guy, and Tex decides she's gonna kick his butt as a way to endear him to us so he'll tell us what he knows (otherwise we gotta wait for someone on the floor to wake up!). So I'm hoping Tex gets the snot slapped out of her, but Mr. Cool doesn't stoop to her level, and decides to mix helpful information with witty cuts directed at us. The helpful info gives us the location of the bomb, and the witty cuts ensure that Tex never shuts up in response!"

Once at the warehouse where the bomb is located an encounter occurs between the Justifiers and Sunburst.

"So we get there, and the subtlety squad busts in the front doors and proceeds to start throwing a fourth of July celebration. Needless to say they outclass us from the get go, but we manage to scrape through. Jim gets the stuffing beat out of him, but takes this one bruiser with him, and makes this one chick regret the thumping she gave him. Tex and Arclight give an awesome performance as they deliver up bodies by the pallet. Tex does manage to get a thumping, but she has this habit of diving into fists, so it's not a surprise. Eventually the guys were up against decide to leave, which I was happy to see, because I was having a nicotine fit and needed a smoke bad."

After the conflict was resolved bomb disposal personnel were called in to disarm the explosive device.

"So, were sitting around after the brawl, and Tex is pacing like she's expecting kittens. I figure, if this bad boy goes, we're long gone before the ash from my Marlboro hits the pavement. Hell of a scrapper, but the girl needs practice in the waiting department."

General Hawkins took this time to offer the individuals the opportunity to join the newly forming BoMA high threat response group. All persons present with the exception of the local investigator took advantage of the offer.

"Hawkins offered us the job of government super guys, and I saw an opportunity to get the fu*k out of Chicago and back to the East coast, and find Lily. That and the prospects of a respectable paying job (a requirement of my parole) was more then enough for me. So I told them I'd get my stuff, and meet them in a day or so. Plans changed when I found the flop house I'd been staying at had burned down. No doubt Brimstone had figured I was the one that sold him out and screwed up the whole deal. So I joined a little earlier then I'd expected."
